OFW Serbisyo't Kooperatiba, a public service online platform via Facebook (FB) was created since almost seven (7) years past or on 24 October 2017 by Tirso Nieva Paglicawan, Jr., formerly, the chief of Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost) media and public affairs; erstwhile president of PhilPost Workers Union; Cocofed scholar and editor of student publication in high school; Department of Education (DepEd) and Civil Service Commission (CSC) scholar during college at the University of the East and a civil engineering graduate; a journalist, paralegal officer and Filipino migrant workers' welfare and rights advocate/ crusader.

In May of 2023, OFW Serbisyo't Kooperatiba was given the privilege and opportunity by Media House Express (MHE) founders Allan Afable Hobrero, the president/ owner and Irma Espiritu Tia, MHE chief finance officer to host a daily podcast program from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Philippine standard time), Monday to Friday. The show caters and is entirely dedicated to Filipino migrant workers including their families anywhere in the world who are in dire need of help. Successful stories of OFW and family members are as well presented to serve as encouragement and inspiration to countrymen. This program also is a forum and platform by, of and for cooperatives and peoples' organizations to introduce and promote their respective associations and groups.

We help OFWs - victims of maltreatment, abuse and exploitation (MAE) collate, gather, obtain and secure materials and other documentary evidences which shall be made bases and references in the timely filing of legitimate monetary claims and other benefits; and in lodging appropriate civil or criminal cases against individuals who or institutions which commit MAE, human rights violations and other crimes.

Provide Rescue

To request the officials and employees of agencies and offices of Philippine government and other countries to conduct rescue missions and operations as needs arise.

Provide Protection

To provide protection, security and shelter first and foremost to Filipino migrant workers via determination of which agencies they belong and who are their respective employers.

Provide Records

To provide information and necessary records either audio and video files and other media which shall be utilized for legal purposes and other relative undertakings.

To Alarm

To give signal to concerned officials and personnel of agencies and offices of Philippine government; provide them advice/ advisory and timely notify them of the nature of problems and difficult situations that the OFWs are encountering or being experienced.

Offer of Benefits for OFWs and Families

The purpose of OFW Serbisyo't Kooperatiba is to help rescue and save lives of distressed Filipino migrant workers and if circumstances dictate, repatriate and further assist them to obtain justice, more particularly if they are victims of human trafficking or there are violations of human rights and commissions of crimes.

Help shall be via provisions of advice, guidance and assistance of competent and principled lawyers.

Wherever the destination country of a particular OFW or elsewhere he/ she is deployed, either land-based or sea-based, he or she will be monitored using a unique system which was established by OFW Serbisyo't Kooperatiba. One of the system's strategic functions shall determine the status of OFWs. The system is an equipment to also monitor the employers in the overseas.

The OFWs who are situated in countries in the Middle East will be assisted by an interpreter or translator so that they themselves and their respective employers shall comprehend and understand each other.

This system of OFW Serbisyo't Kooperatiba is only recently introduced; this never existed or used in the past in the Philippines and therefore, it will certainly be helpful and useful when made available and put into application by Filipinos in our country and other parts of the globe.

OFW Serbisyo't Kooperatiba is helping monitor the conditions and situations of OFWs especially, the household service workers to determine if they are in good working environment and performing their jobs and tasks properly. The main focus is also to ensure that workers are regularly, timely and rightly receiving compensations and salaries and stringently, all provisions in the contracts are followed. No OFW is maltreated, abused or exploited by employers, recruitment agencies, colleagues or fellow OFWs and other stakeholders.

OFW Serbisyo't Kooperatiba is equipped with a unique system which for the first time is now utilized in the country with the assistance of YaraMay Computer Maintenance Services (YCMS) whereby it helps agencies and offices of Philippine government to properly check, better monitor and watch the OFWs in different countries of the world.

OFW Serbisyo't Kooperatiba and Engr. Ferdenand "Ibraheem" Lawag Sabado, the manager of YaraMay Computer Maintenance Services (YCMS), the inventor himself and copyright/ patent owner of the system are greatly grateful, hugely encouraged and strongly influenced and inspired by Ramon "Ike" Señeres, former member of the Board of Directors of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
